Brussels, 21/02/2024 – Over 180 participants, representing Tibet Support Groups from more than 40 countries, are converging in Brussels for the 9th International Conference of the Tibet Support Groups from 23 to 25 February 2024. Over the three days, the participants will assess the current state of human rights situation in Tibet, engage in discussions and formulate new campaign strategies to bring Tibet at the forefront of the international community.
Pirate Party MEP Mikuláš Peksa invites media correspondents to the inaugural of the conference on Friday, 23rd February, 2024, at 09.00 at the Thon Hotel Brussels City Center, Avenue du Boulevard 17, 1210 Brussels.
The inaugural session will start with a message from His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and Ms Heidi Hautala, Vice-President of the European Parliament, welcome speech by MEP Mikuláš Peksa, President of the Tibet Interest Group at European Parliament, followed by the inaugural address by Dr Hans Gert Pöttering, former President, European Parliament, and keynote address by Sikyong Penpa Tsering, the democratically elected political leader of the Tibetan people.
